What we ordered and how we checked it
This is the white Kenzo Classic T-Shirt, SKU 7702042745, catalogued at $13.58 against a $16.19 original, listed as in stock. The listing describes a pure cotton crew-neck tee in a loose cut with short sleeves, a pullover construction and a printed chest motif, released for summer 2024. We ordered the 8101 white variant in size L through an agent route, matched the QC images against the approved set, then put the tee on the bench at our Rotterdam desk.
On the bench we measured the garment flat: chest across the front, doubled, from armpit seam to armpit seam; shoulder width seam to seam; sleeve length from the shoulder seam; and body length from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem. Each number was compared with the listing's size chart, and any variance over 1 cm was flagged. We then weighed a 10 × 10 cm fabric swatch on the calibrated 0.1 g scale, washed the tee once in cold water, line-dried it and re-measured the same four points.
The bench numbers, against Kenzo's own chart
| Measurement | Our size L sample (flat) | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, doubled | 104 cm | Kenzo published chart lists 104 cm for L |
| Shoulder, seam to seam | 41 cm | Kenzo published chart lists 41 cm for L |
| Body length, high shoulder point to hem | 70 cm | Not stated on this listing |
| Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff | 20 cm | Not stated on this listing |
| Fabric weight, swatch weighed at 0.1 g | Approximately 195 g/m² | Listing band: 180 g up to under 250 g |
The chest and shoulder figures landed exactly on the brand's published numbers, which is the cleanest result we can report from a single sample. The listing itself prints no chest, length or sleeve numbers, so anyone buying from that page is working from the brand chart rather than from the seller's page. Note also that Kenzo's published chart shows a length column we could not read in full from the page capture available to us — the excerpt we hold stops at the chest and shoulder values. Treat the 70 cm body length as our own tape result, not as a brand figure.
The fit question
The listing calls this a loose cut, and the cut feels relaxed through the body and shoulder without being oversized. But the brand's own guidance is not consistent across styles, so the "loose" label rests on the seller description rather than on brand-level sizing advice for this exact model.
This item is designed for a slim fit, take your normal size. For a looser fit, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual size. — Kenzo product page for a different cotton T-shirt
That is why the tape matters more than the size label here. Kenzo's official guide lists garment chest of roughly 94 cm for S, 98 cm for M, 104 cm for L and 110 cm for XL. Measure a tee you already like across the chest, doubled, and pick the size whose number is closest. If you want a clearly oversized look, the chart suggests going up one size, the same advice the brand gives on its slim cuts.
Fabric, finish and what one wash did
The main fabric is pure cotton, knit and pullover, with a mid-weight hand that reads light for summer but not sheer in white. Our swatch came in around 195 g/m², comfortably inside the listing's 180 g to under 250 g band, and close to the middle of it — so the garment behaves like a standard-weight cotton jersey rather than the heavier blank-tee construction some buyers expect at this weight band.
We washed the tee once in cold water and line-dried it. Chest, shoulder and body length all moved by less than 0.5 cm on re-measurement, and the print showed no lifting, cracking or colour bleed. That is one wash on one sample, so we treat it as a single data point rather than a claim that the tee is shrink-proof; a hot machine dry is the obvious risk, and we would keep it out of one.
The graphic and the colourways
The chest print is a red eye with a dark pupil surrounded by blue geometric rays, sized as a single centred block. The registration on our sample was crisp, the blue and red sat cleanly against the white cotton with no halo at the edges, and the inner neckline carries a small brand label. Because the print is white-adjacent at the edges, a warm wash or an iron directly on the motif is the fastest way to dull it — turn the tee inside out and keep the iron off the graphic.
The listing enumerates 21 colourway codes across white, grey, black and orange, in sizes S through XL. The listing's own copy and keywords lean heavily on black, which is worth knowing before you order: the catalog title and the seller text do not always describe the white option you have selected, so confirm the colour code (8101 white in our case) on the variant you actually add to the cart.
What we could not confirm
There is no independent buyer feedback attached to this item, so every sizing statement here traces back either to our own single size L sample or to Kenzo's published chart. The brand states plainly that fit varies by style, with some cotton T-shirts running true and others cut slim, and we found no brand statement specific to this graphic tee. Verification steps we would suggest before ordering: confirm the chosen colour code in writing, ask the agent for a chest measurement of the actual unit in QC photos rather than trusting the size label, and compare that number with a tee you own. If you need a documented consensus on fit before buying, this listing does not provide one.
